Capstone Homes developed our On Your Lot Building Program with you in mind. We wanted to make sure our homeowners had the option to live wherever they wanted. We know that many different factors come into play like schools, work,churches and sports programs when choosing a home so our program is focused on providing you that freedom to choose the best home and location that suites you and your family.

Capstone Homes has become one of the largest private builders in the state of Minnesota, constructing approximately 250 homes last year. We have long lasting relationships with our sub-contractors, and together we take pride in every home that we build whether it is in one of our many communities or on a private lot. We are family owned and consider all of our homeowners family too!

With a real estate market that has extremely limited inventory of houses to choose from, prices on available homes continue to rise. Don’t overpay for an out-of-date home that doesn’t fit your family’s needs. New construction provides modern open concept floor plans, a home warranty and design options that make your new home a reflection.

Our OYL specialists will work with you closely every step of the way, making the entire OYL building process a smooth and rewarding process. You will have the opportunity to be a part of the building process of your home, assisting in the contracting of certain responsibilities. This gives you the freedom to have aspects of the project done exactly the way you want them.

Your New Home Sales Consultant will help you choose and price out your floor plan and structural options and initiate your home building process by beginning your build agreement. From there, we will continue to guide you, step by step, through the easy path of homeownership!

Knowing your buying power is a very important step in your home building journey. Now that you have the preliminary pricing on hand, meet with your lender to get prequalified for your dream home.

It is important to thoroughly evaluate your lot. At this meeting, you will start building a relationship with your Construction Superintendent. He will walk the site with you and discuss the positioning of the house, take key measurements and make observations necessary to determine the unique Site Improvement Costs.

During the design process, you’ll collaborate with Capstone’s Design Expert to make exterior and interior selections ensuring your brand new home is a reflection of you and your unique lifestyle.

We are thrilled to finalize all the details and start building your brand new home. At this preconstruction meeting, we will confirm all your floor plan particulars and chosen options. You will get a summary of all your costs including your new home, option selections and site improvement costs for a Total Project Cost. This finalizes your build agreement.

At this point, you are ready to close on your Construction Loan and begin building. Get ready to watch it all come together!

Are you ready to make new memories in your brand new home? It’s finished! We’ll show you your new home’s features, operating systems and prepare you for your next steps.

Signing all the final closing documents and receiving your keys is such a monumental moment! Our closing specialists are here to ensure this is hassle free. After you’ve made final payment and all the last documents are signed, you are free to move in and enjoy your brand new home!

Now that you’ve made your brand new house into a home, we want to check-in after 30 days and review any questions you may have and discuss a plan-of-action to resolve any issues. Part of our Capstone Confidence Program is making sure you know we are here as your resource before, during and after your building experience!

We want to celebrate your one year anniversary with you! We’ll schedule a visit to ensure everything is in working order so you can be sure that you’ll have a home you love for many more years to come.

There are differing levels of homesite preparation depending on the location and unique features of your lot. Some lots need very little prep work; other will need clearing, grading, or private well & septic. We offer a free site evaluation by our construction superintendent to determine the site specific costs for your unique lot. Our construction personnel will walk the site with you to determine any additional costs due to the specific needs of your homesite.

Absolutely. We can complete your house plans, do the homesite evaluation and make all your color and option selections so we are ready to start as soon as you sell. If your financial situation allows, we may even be able to begin construction before you sell your existing home.
