5 Things To Do This Winter

1. The 138th Saint Paul Winter Carnival is the oldest winter festival in the United States, dating back to 1886. Featuring dozens of family friendly events, most of which are free, the Rice Park area transforms into a winter wonderland the last week of January. 
2. Another great family Minnesota event to attend is a Timberwolves game. Crunch's Family Deal includes tickets & a meal for a great price. Available game deal dates are December 16 against the Indiana Pacers & January 14 against the LA Clippers. Come cheer on the top 3 Wolves of the season: Anthony Edwards, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Rudy Gobert. 
3. The popular Minnesota Ice Castles will be available to visit in Maple Grove this year! Opening in January 2024, the castles will be situated at the corner of Main Street and Weaver Lake Road. This winter wonderland includes ice slides, caverns & archways, crawl tunnels, ice sculptures, tubing hills, and more! 
4. There are many great options for theater buffs at this time of year but a fan favorite place to try is The Seasons Christmas Dinner Theatre at Majestic Oaks. Each year, local writers/directors Tom and Patti McCarthy feature a new Christmas production to enjoy and this year “Halo, It’s Me!” is the perfect feel good musical comedy to jumpstart your holiday season. 
5. No winter list would be complete without mentioning the Minnesota Wild Hockey team. Inspire your future & junior hockey players by taking them to “Faith & Family Night” or “Love Your Melon Night”, two events that are sponsored by the Minnesota Wild. Faith and Family Night is hosted by the He Gets Us foundation and on “Love Your Melon Night”, you can receive a free MN Wild branded Love Your melon beanie!
